UPDATE: Rochester police on Monday identified the woman fatally shot on Clairmount Street as Chyra Floyd, 21, of Rochester. No charges have been filed in connection with her death.


A woman was shot and killed in northeast Rochester late Thursday night, the Rochester Police Department announced Friday afternoon.

At 11:15 p.m. Thursday, officers went to Rochester General Hospital after a gunshot victim was dropped off by a private vehicle.?

The victim, a 21-year-old Rochester woman, was shot in her upper body and later died at the hospital.?

Officers responded to 36 Clairmount St., just north of Clifford Avenue, for the report of several shots fired. Investigators found evidence of a shooting on Clairmount Street and were able to determine that's where the victim was shot.

At 1 p.m. Friday, police said the victim died from her injuries?at RGH.?The woman's identity has not been released.
